Μαργαρίτα Εκκλησιάρχου
Margarita Ecclesiarchou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She studied French Literature at Aristotelion University in Thessaloniki and then continued with graduate studies in philosophy at Aix en Provence Univesity, in France. There she began taking classes at a ceramic’s atelier, and continued to fully devote herself to her craft upon returning to Athens, Greece. In 2002 she moved to Aegina, an island known for its tradition of Ceramics, where she continues working exclusively with porcelain, a material that gives itself to exquisite detail and refinement. There alonf with other Ceramicists, she formed the association, “Aegina and Ceramics” that organizes ceramics symposiums, and exhibitions of ceramics and sculpture at the Archaeological Museum of Aegina. She has shown her work at various group and solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
